Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (2013)

The 2013 Amendments to the UCCJEA modify the Act to comport with the obligations of the United States under the 1996 Hague Convention on Jurisdiction, Applicable Law, Recognition, Enforcement, and Co-operation in respect of Parental Responsibility and Measures for the Protection of Children. Although the ULC approved the Amendments to the UCCJEA Pertaining to International Proceedings in 2013, because federal implementing legislation has not yet been drafted, the ULC does not intend to present the Amendments for state enactment at this time.
