Information Practices Code


The Uniform Information Practices Code provides a uniform statutory approach to privacy and freedom of information. The Code recognizes the significance of both access and privacy to the individual and to society. Its concepts and provisions are designed to identify and clarify applications, relationships, and boundaries in the law and, in the process, to preserve and enhance established values.
