Origin Completed by the Uniform Law Commission in 1972.
Description UMVARA is a comprehensive, no-fault automobile insurance act, which created a complete system of reparations for injuries and loss arising from motor vehicle accidents. Under the act, to a large extent, economic losses from vehicle accidents would be compensated without regard to fault through first party insurance coverages, and tort liability for those losses would be abolished.
